When she created her floral design company, Jessie Weidinger named it for her grandfather, Herman Rountree, an accomplished Illustrator who lived and worked in Rhode Island. As a third generation artist in a family of painters, Jessie has taken her art from the canvas, through the garden, and into floral design. She creates pieces that explore the colors, pleasures, and paradoxes of the natural world.
With a BA in Art History and Painting from the University of Vermont, Jessie has a background steeped in the arts. After moving to New York in 1999, she enjoyed a career in television production before dedicating herself fully to floral design. She had the opportunity to work with some of the city’s leading floral design companies before opening her own business. Driven by inspiration from her mother’s Rhode Island gardens, Jessie’s dynamic design abilities, strong work ethic and contagious love of flowers quickly launched Rountree Flowers as a respected presence in the New York floral design industry.
